Atlantic Platform for the Integration and Analysis of Geospatial Data using Artificial Intelligence and Bayesian Inference
GeoAtlant-AI&BI is a 36-month project developed within the framework of the UNESCO Chair “Biodiversity and Sustainability in Atlantic Islands”. It focuses on the development of an integrated geospatial data platform for Atlantic Islands, using the Azores as a pilot region, combining geospatial data, Artificial Intelligence and Bayesian inference to support predictive modelling, biodiversity conservation, land management, sustainable tourism and evidence-based decision-making.
Geospatial Data
Integration and organization of spatial information on land use, biodiversity, habitats, protected areas, climate, tourism and landscape.
Artificial Intelligence
Use of machine learning and advanced analytical methods to identify spatial patterns, support modelling and improve environmental analysis.
Bayesian Inference
Application of probabilistic approaches to incorporate uncertainty and strengthen ecological, spatial and decision-support models.
Atlantic Islands
A project focused on island systems, using the Azores as a pilot region for methods that may be relevant across Atlantic island contexts.
